breathing life into ordinary spaces.
At Row + Co. Interiors, our design approach is rooted in the creation of spaces you want to gather in. Whether it is creating a cozy restaurant that transports diners to a chef’s Grandmother’s kitchen table, a welcoming yoga studio that invites the neighborhood on a wellness journey, or finally waking up the soul of your home. We wholeheartedly believe that beauty and function can be friends. Through thoughtful space planning and working through real life scenarios, together, we can shape the environment to capture every need and function all while creating a peaceful escape. Let’s breathe new life into your space!
how we got here
As a Boston based interior designer, Kelsey Karns spent over a decade working in architectural firms in the city. With experience in hospitality, multi-family residential, retail, and commercial interiors, she saw a wide range of project types, clients, and design phases. After maternity leave with her son, Rowan, she took the opportunity to step away from architectural firm life to focus on her family. Through this transition, Row + Co. was born.
Her most recent work focused on expanding the restaurant scene in New England as a Senior Interior Designer at RODE Architects. Here, she worked hand-in-hand with some incredible chefs, operators, and general managers to bring big ideas to life.
The magic of working in the hospitality design space is that you can pull inspiration from a chef’s vacation pictures, an owner’s favorite shared meal, or a preliminary dinner or cocktail menu. Quickly, a restaurant becomes more than a set of tables and chairs with good food, but an adventure that transports you with all of your senses.
Some of her latest work while at RODE includes the following:
Baleia in the South End
White Elephant’s Brant Point Grill in Nantucket
Bernadette in Salem
Gufo in Cambridge
CanalSide Food + Drink in Cambridge
